Srinagar, July 28: In yet another shocking incident, a Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police Special Police Officer (SPO) has been abducted by terrorists in Pulwama district’s Tral region on Saturday. Reports claimed that the militants kidnapped the police officer Shakeel Ahmad Lone while he was visiting one of his relatives in the region. The incident comes days after constable Saleem Khan was abducted from his residence in the Mutalhama area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir. Security forces had launched a manhunt to find the terrorists but ended up finding the bullet-ridden body of the policeman whom the terrorists had tortured and killed. Khan, who was on leave when he was abducted, had joined the services in 2016 and after completing his basic training, was posted to DPL Pulwama.
On July 5, police had recovered the body of a constable Javaid Ahmad. He was also abducted by militants from his home in the Shopian district of Jammu & Kashmir.
Last month an Army jawan Aurangzeb was abducted and killed by terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama while on his way back home to celebrate Eid with his family. After his abduction, the Jammu and Kashmir Police had launched a massive manhunt. Hours later, his bullet-riddled body was found in the outskirts of Pulwama.
