Jammu and Kashmir: A civilian was abducted from his shop by unidentified gunmen in north Kashmir’s Sopore village on Wednesday. Reportedly, the 30-year-old was kidnapped from J&K’s Baramulla district by masked men who barged inside his shop.

The abducted civilian has been identified as Afzal Ahmed Ganie, son of Tawseef Ahmed Ganie. Afzal Ahmed Ganie belongs to Tujjer village of Sopore. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sopore Javid Iqbal confirmed the incident and said that a manhunt has been launched to trace the kidnapped man.

On Tuesday, a terrorist hideout was busted in Kuddhar area in Doda’s Kastigarh by the Indian Army.  Further, 2 AK-47, 3 magazines, among other arms and ammunition were recovered from the shelter. Acting on a tip-off, a search operation was conducted in Kuddhar area of Bhagwah block and recovered arms, ammunition and explosive material.

The recoveries included two AK rifles, 355 rounds, and three magazines, one UBGL (under barrel grenade launchers), four Chinese grenades and as many UBGL grenades.
