Srinagar: Three terrorists were killed and one jawan has lost his life in the Dalipora encounter on Thursday. Earlier, two terrorists were reportedly holed up in a house in the Dalipora area of Pulwama. The exchange of fire in the area is currently underway between terrorists and security forces since Thursday morning. Search operations were undertaken and an encounter broke out after the militants opened fire at the security forces.
A police officer reportedly said that upon hearing the news of the presence of terrorists, a team comprising Army members and Special Operations Group has cordoned off the site located near the police station in Pulwama.
Meanwhile, on May 8, terrorists reportedly fired upon two civilians at Zainapora area of Shopian. Both the injured were immediately shifted to a hospital in the area.
In a similar incident last month, terrorists hurled a grenade at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp at Tral in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. In the attack at Nowdal, one personnel was left injured, claimed officials, as quoted by PTI. The attack was carried out by an under-barrel grenade launcher at the 180th battalion of the CRPF, added the officials. The grenade explosion inside the camp of the ‘bravo company’ resulted in minor injuries to a CRPF head constable. He was immediately provided medical assistance.
