Srinagar, Nov 30: Four terrorists, belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammad terror outfit, were killed in encounter in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The security forces had launched a joint operation in Futlipora village of Pakharpora in central Kashmir’s Budgam during wee hours on Thursday following inputs of terrorists hiding there.
The search operation in the area are still on even as the encounter ended on Thursday.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police and 10 Garhwal of Army cordoned off Futlipora on Thursday morning around 6 am after “specific inputs” about the presence of militants, Greater Kashmir reported. The mobile internet service in parts of Budgam was also snapped.
Meanwhile, in another encounter, one Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was gunned down in an encounter with the security forces in Sopore district of Jammu and Kashmir. More details are awaited.
The encounters come a few days after three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists, who were Pakistani nationals, were killed by security forces in Magam area of Handwara district in North Kashmir.
