J&K, June 29: At least one Army personnel got injured after terrorists lobbed grenade at an Army patrolling party in Shopian’s Ahgam today. The area has been cordoned off and search operation has been launched. As per the sources, information on a group of terrorists hiding in the area was received. Another encounter took place in Kupwara between security forces and militants. At least one terrorist was killed in an encounter near Trehgam in Kupwara district and the operation is now over.
At least two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed by security forces in an encounter in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, this week.
The Central Government had announced the cessation of anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir which was suspended in the wake of Ramadan. Security forces have been on high alert in the region after the Union Government announced the decision to not extend the suspension of counter-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir which was announced at the beginning of Ramadan.
