Jammu and Kashmir: At least two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were killed in an encounter by the security forces on Wednesday. The two terrorists named Umar and Altaf Kachroo were earlier trapped today trapped in Anantag’s Muniward region. Altaf Ahmed Dar, known as Kachroo was the son of Late Gh. Mohd Dar resident of Hawoora, Mishipora District Kulgam was currently operating as a one of the most important terrorist Commander of proscribed terror outfit HM. A few days back, terrorists barged into the residence of a forest department official and shot him down. The official, 38-year-old Tariq Ahmad Malik, later succumbed to his injuries. The incident was reported in Zandpal area at Kunzer in Tangmarg, Baramulla. A case was registered and an investigation into the same is being conducted.
Prior to the Baramulla attack, militants had shot dead three policemen in Pulwama. Police said an unknown number of militants forced their entry into the house of Inspector Muhammad Ashraf Dar in Larve village in Pulwama district and killed him. “They fired at the officer from close range resulting in his death on the spot,” a police officer said.
