New Delhi, July 12: Two Indian army personnel were martyred in firing by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara on Wednesday. The two soldiers lost their lives when terrorists indiscriminately shot at them in Keran sector. It has not yet been confirmed how the events unfolded and if there are any injured soldiers, however, official response from the Indian army is awaited in this regard. It has also to be ascertained which terror groups the attackers belonged to. More information regarding the incident is awaited.

According to ANI, initially the two soldiers were just injured in the attack when the terrorists shot at them. But as of latest reports, both the soldiers succumbed to their injuries.

The attack on the army personnel comes hours after three Hizbul Mujahideen militants were slayed by the security forces in Kashmir’s Budgam area. The gunfight which began on Tuesday finally came to an end after the death of the three terrorist who were present in the Radbug village of Budgam district. While the security forces reached the spot after they recieved intel about the presence of the terrorists, they reportedly laid a cordon around the area.

This operation was carried out jointly by the police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Army. Initially it came to a halt when it got dark, but the exchange of fire resumed again on Wednesday morning and finally ending with the death of three militants.
