New Delhi, Feb 20: Jawaharlal Nehru University is now being branded as a hub of anti-national people and the reason is for this is the video evidence shown by different media channels which ‘allegedly’ makes him guilty for raising slogans on the campus. The video has gone viral after it was broadcast by different agencies, but when given a closer look one can get a clear picture of the truth behind and understand that it has been doctored.
JNU Students’ Union president Kanhaiya Kumar is in Tihar Jail waiting for his bail petition to be heard by the Delhi High court and the police, which arrested him based on the shot on February 9 and February 11, is claiming that they have solid evidence to nail Kanhaiya Kumar and others. In the latest video, the Kanhiaya has been shown chanting slogans of ‘Azaadi’ and Umar Khalid standing beside him. Photo editing is quite visible and the excellent audio editing can be heard from quite a distance too. But when one see the video with a closer look, one can get the idea that the video is far from the original piece. (ALSO READ: JNU row: Economist Pranab Bardhan compares the situation with emergency)
In the original video, Kanhaiya is seen chanting slogans for Azaadi (Freedom) from oppression, Brahminism, casteism, religionism and atrocities in the name of administration by the Hindu fringe elements. Since the case is in Higher court and and nthey are going to examine the truth and the authenticity of the video, it would not be appropriate to comment on the video evidences, but it is quite sure that Delhi Police will have to go an extra mile to prove their point in High Court.
