New Delhi, September 21 : Resentment amongst the public against certain sections of the society is going up. This came to the forefront when a group of young people raised an impromptu protest on sighting a bunch of students from the Jawaharlal Nehru University. After proceedings by Kanhaiyya Kumar and his group earlier in the year, the University’s students have earned a rather dubious reputation.A group of young people decided to show their frustration at the rather naive view held by some at Jawaharlal Nehru University by shouting slogans against them. The group had people shouting, “JNU!”, “Pakistani!”, “Anti-National!”. A video of the entire event has come to the surface.
The video also shows some people yelling with their middle fingers in the air “That’s what [Frederick] Engels said. That’s what Karl Marx said.”. This of course, had nothing to do with the Communist Party of India but rather to the extreme left leaning views of students at JNU.The protestors had to be restrained by police. It was only after the police interfered that the protestors left the Jawaharlal Nehru University student’s alone. The group of students from Jawaharlal Nehru University were out for a movie in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar. It has been approximately six months since JNU got caught up in the sedition controversy. Reportedly anti-India slogans were raised at the Delhi Students Union protest, which led to the arrest of the Students’ Union President Kanhaiya Kumar and Umar Khalid on charges of sedition. Both of them were recorded supporting Afzal Guru and asking for the break-up of India into many pieces.
