New Delhi, Sept 6: In yet another contentious social media post, Justice Markandey Katju took a potshot at the current legal and political functioning of the nation. In an extremely sarcastic post on Facebook, Justice Katju presented the draft copy of his new constitution. While the post was evidently a satire, it not only took a shot at the political, legal and bureaucratic class, but also on the common people who are driven by their lumpentariat tendencies. The preamble of this new constitution as proposed by Katju begins with the following hillarious line: “We, The People of India, who are mostly casteist, communal and stupid.”
As per this new constitution of Katju, a free license would be given to Indians to practice casteism and communalism in all spheres of lives. The citizens would be urged to oppress the weak, poor, minorities and women. The current fundamental rights would be replaced by those which promise oppression and harassment through the system. “The only fundamental right of ordinary citizens will be to get looted, deceived, discriminated, exploited and controlled by the superior citizens. Freedom of speech, liberty, equality etc are all humbug, and are strictly prohibited.” (ALSO READ: Justice Markandey Katju calls Mother Teresa a ‘fraud’, ‘fundamentalist’ and ‘fanatic’)
The Article 1 of Justice Katju’s constitution reads: “India, that is Bharat, shall be a collection of fools, to be ruled by crooks, gangsters, deceivers, frauds and looters”. The fundamental duties are even more hilarious, instructing all citizens to ensure casteist and communal violence, atrocities against the minorities and weaker sections of society, and to develop superstition and feudalism in all walks of life.
Similarly, the directive principles of this new constitution as proposed by the former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, promises hunger, unemployment, no healthcare and lack of education. “The State shall endeavour to keep the ownership and control of the material resources of the country in the hands of a few billionaires, and increase the divide between the rich and the poor,” it further reads.
Justice Katju also took a shot at the collegium system of appointment of judges, which he called non-transparent. The Article 6 of his constitution read as follows, ” All other provisions of this Constitution shall be determined hereafter in an opaque manner by the superior citizens ( the way the Supreme Court Collegium functions ), and the ordinary citizens will have no say in it.” Katju also added that his constitution would leave no room for future amendments.
In a comment on his post, a social media user asked him about reservation as per his new constitution. Katju replied, “All posts should be reserved on caste and communal lines.”
Here is the complete draft of his new constitution which would leave you amazed with the level of satire:
