Kabul, Oct 11: The war-torn region of Afghanistan was struck by another devastating terror attack on Sunday morning. A foreign troop convoy was attacked by extremist outfits in the capital city of Kabul. According to local media reports, the attack was a planned suicide attack. However, no terror group has claimed responsibility yet. High numbers of causalities are expected.

According to local television channel Tolo News, the foreign troop was attacked by suicide bombers in the Afghan capital. “A loud explosion was heard in Kabul reportedly of a suicide attack against foreign army convoy,” the private media outlet reported. However, government sources have refused to confirm the attack. (ALSO READ: No doubts that Taliban leadership is in Pakistan: Afghanistan Defence minister)

The news was subsequently validated by international news agency Reuters. However, the number of causalities, and the insurgent faction behind the attack is yet to be ascertained.

Afghanistan has once again been gripped under Islamic extremism, as the country’s internal security weakened following the decision of United States of America to withdraw its troops. A resurgent Taliban is constantly at loggerheads with the democratically elected government of President Ashraf Ghani.
