Badaun, March 5: JNUSU president leader Kanhaiya Kumar has already garnered a lot of attention from political fronts across the country, with CPIM MP Sitaram Yechury even announcing that Kumar will campaign for the party in the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections. Now, Kumar is under threat, after a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha announcing that he would reward any person who would cut Kumar’s tongue and get it for him, with Rs. 5 Lakhs!
The announcement has been made by BJYM leader from Badaun Uttar Pardesh, Sudheer Varshney, who was reportedly upset with Kumar’s speech where he took pot shots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kumar’s fiery speech, which he delivered after he was released from jail on Thursday night. Kumar’s speech gained the spotlight and was widely covered by eager media channels, who wanted to see if Kumar was cowed down by the treatment that was meted out to him in the jail. According to Vashney, Kumar was merely targeting everyone, after openly displaying ‘anti-national’ behaviour, by shouting seditious slogans. Varshney is particularly upset by what Kumar said about “our father figure Prime Minister Narendra Modi”, and said that he would reward anyone who would get Kumar’s tongue and bring it to him. On Thursday night, Kumar had targeted the government and some media channels for running a trial against him and running ‘doctored’ videos of him and his colleagues apparently shouting ‘anti-national’ slogans on the campus of the University.
