New Delhi: While BJP leaders Vasundhara Raje and her son Dushyant Singh were tested negative, the health and administrative officials are leaving no stones unturned to track all those who came into contact with singer Kanika Kapoor, whose positive test result sent everyone in a tizzy. The singer reportedly was advised home isolation after she returned to India. But she attended a party and came into contact with many people, including several parliamentarians. According to reports, about 1,000 officials both from the local administration and the UP health departments have been tasked to track down the trail. 22,000 residents in the neighbourhood of Kanika’s house have been alerted and told to not move out for at least 48 hours. Kanika stayed at a five-star hotel between March 14 and March 16. The South African cricket team was also staying at that hotel for a match, which later got cancelled. CCTV footages are being probed to find out whether she came into contact with any of them. The singer’s test result triggered a major scare in the political circles as Dushyant Singh, days after attending the Lucknow party, also attended Parliament, thus exposing several fellow MPs to the virus. He was also present at a function hosted by President Ram Nath Kovind. As a result, several MPs have put themselves under self-isolation. President Kovind, too, is likely to undergo medical tests to check for COVID-19 virus.
