Amit Shah went on to slam the Congress rule for what he termed as “unidirectional” action against groups like Popular Front of India and Social Democratic Party of India. “The manner in which all cases against PFI (Popular Front of India) and SDPI (Social Democratic Party of India) have been withdrawn, shows the unidirectional action by Siddaramaiah government,” he said.

Earlier on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi, who is also in the state campaigning for upcoming Assembly elections, mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the multi-crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud.

Addressing a public rally in Karnataka’s Bagalkot district, Rahul Gandhi demanded an explanation from PM Modi over how celebrity diamond merchant Nirav Modi siphoned off huge amount from the public sector bank.

“PM Modi says he is the country’s ‘chowkidar’ and not the Prime Minister. He also says he is a ‘sevak’ (servant) of the people. Then, he should explain how a diamond trader (Nirav Modi) could siphon off Rs 22,000 crore from a public sector bank without his knowledge,” Gandhi said.
