Bengaluru, Jan 27: This February, nearly 6.2 lakh Karnataka government employees and pensioners are set to receive a 24-30 per cent salary hike from the Congress-led administration just ahead of the Assembly Election 2018. The Siddaramaiah government is likely to announce a salary hike of up to 24-30 per cent and holidays on alternate Saturdays for its employees.
The decision has been taken following demands of a five-day working in a week and a pay scale equal to that of the central government employees. “To ensure this does not lead to a decrease in work hours, the government is toying with the idea of extending office hours on the first and third Saturdays,” a senior official of DPAR was quoted as saying by Times of India.
