“In Sept 2013, Siddaramaiah went to attend WEF meeting in China and there he met Vijay Ishwaran who is an absconder. On April 27, Sambit Patra slammed Congress’s manifesto and pointed out some alarming loopholes. “I don’t consider this manifesto a manifesto. Congress’s manifesto has no vision, no mission and is all about the commission,” he had said reportedly.
The attack comes in the wake of the recent allegations levelled by the Congress on Prime Minister Narendra Modi of meeting PNB Fraud accused Nirav Modi during World Economic Forum 2018 in Davos. However, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had clarified that PM Modi had not interacted with Nirav Modi in Davos. “I can say with confidence that this gentleman is not in touch with any of our officials & frankly at this stage we are not aware about his location,” MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar had said.
Earlier in the day, while addressing an election rally in Chitradurga, PM Narendra Modi hit out at Siddaramaiah saying, “Among the many things the Karnataka CM keeps with him is character certificates. Whenever a Minister faces charges, the CM is ready with a character certificate. He loves defending the wrong kind of people.”
Karnataka Assembly Elections 2018 is scheduled for May 12. The counting of votes will be conducted on May 15.
