June 9: Kudligi Deputy Superintendent of Police Anupama Shenoy’s resignation on Facebook read, “Resigned and jobless”. Shenoy who had been transferred earlier this year to keeping a minister’s phone on hold, has created a stir. India Today quoted senior BJP leader Suresh Kumar as saying, “Anupama who is known for her commitment and efficiency. He added saying, “Two months ago, the minister, had created problems for the officer. And suddenly she has resigned and she’s posting this, hinting that she has to resign because of the political pressure. Nayak was caught on camera talking proudly about transferring her. Following the outrage, the officer was reinstated in February. One of her Facebook post reads, “CD Beke?… Audio Beke?… ” (Do you want a CD or a audio tape?) with a hashtag #ParameshiPremaPrasanga. This led to speculations about evidence against the minister. She also posted saying that the evidence would be made available by midnight. Shenoy also took a dig at former Chief Minister  H D Kumaraswamy. Om Prakash, Director-General and Inspector-General of Police, said that Shenoy’s resignation letter had reached him and he was “considering it”.  After her posts on social media, it had become difficult for the government. There are talks that she may be reconsidered. Shenoy said, “I will meet SP today, will not take back my resignation.”

Shenoy is a 2010 batch Karnataka cadre officer. She was transferred to Indi Division in Vijayapura district from Ballari on January 18 following her tiff with the minister.
