New Delhi, May 15: Minutes after Congress leaders extended formal support to HD Deve Gowda-led Janata Dal Secular (JDS) to form coalition government in Karnataka, JD(S) President Danish Ali said that they are doing everything to keep Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) out of power. Addressing reporters, Ali said,”We had always maintained that HD Kumaraswamy will be CM. As per results, we’re doing everything to keep BJP out of power. Congress has extended its support, we have accepted it. We will jointly go to meet Governor after 5.30 PM today.”

Earlier in the day, Congress had announced formal support to Janata Dal Secular (JDS). Speaking to reporters senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said,”We had a telephonic conversation with Deve Gowda ji & Kumaraswamy. They have accepted our offer. Hopefully, we will be together.”

On the other hand, when a Congress delegation led by G Parameshwara went to meet the Governor Vajubhai Vala at his residence they did not get entry as Governor said that he won’t meet any political leader till final results come.

Meanwhile, political temperature in Karnataka is soaring as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and the Janata Dal Secular failed to reach the majority mark in the Assembly elections results 2018. According to the Election Commission, the BJP is presently leading at 104 followed by Congress 78 and JD(S) 38.
