New Delhi: In an unusual turn of events, a team of Income Tax sleuths carried out raids at the Shiva temple in Haradanahalli village of Hassan (HD Deve Gowda’s native place) in Karnataka on Friday morning- only to be reported in the police by the head priest. The Haradanahalli temple priest lodged a complaint against two imposters, who searched the premises of the Shiva temple and his lodgings, claiming to be IT officials- presumably looking for stashed funds of some political party in view of the General elections. Soon after they left, the news of an ‘IT raid’ at Shiva temple spread, following which the Income Tax Department looked into the matter and denied any such raids/search carried out by their sleuths.

The Haradanahalli Shiva temple is frequented by HD Deve Gowda and his family. They offer prayers there before beginning any auspicious day or ceremony.
