Karnataka: Two Injured as Petrol Tankers Catch Fire in Chikkamagaluru District
Fire quickly spread to five houses and five tenders were rushed to the spot

New Delhi, June 19: Two people were injured after two petrol tankers turned turtle and caught fire in Karnataka’s Chikkamagaluru district on Tuesday afternoon. At least five fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. According to news agency ANI, the fire quickly spread to five houses and fire officials struggled a lot to douse the flame.

The fire has been doused till now. According to media reports, the incident took place near Giriyapura after the driver lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle was heading towards Hosadurga. The driver was severely injured in the accident and was rushed to a nearby hospital by the locals.

In a similar incident, a major fire broke out at Banashankari oil factory in Malur. Fire tenders were at the spot and efforts were being taken to douse the fire. It was not clear that what caused the fire at Banashankari oil factory.
There is no report of casualties so far. Visuals from the spot showed a thick blanket of black smoke hovering over the Banashankari oil factory and nearby areas.
