Karni Sena has been protesting across the nation demanding a ban on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’, alleging that the film-maker had distorted history pertaining to Rajput-icon Queen Padmini. The film, however, has not even been cleared by the Central Bureau of Film Certification (CBFC).
A parliamentary committee on IT has asked Bhansali and CBFC chairman Prasoon Joshi to appear before it and present their views on the controversy. Fringe elements have threatened film actors with violence if the movie is released.
