Gurugram, Jan 24: The Rajput Karni Sena on Wednesday stooped to an unprecedented low as it attacked a school bus in Gurugram while protesting against the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’. Its workers hurled stones at the bus, creating panic among the young students. Gurgaon police has detained 13 people so far.
A 15-second video clip telecast by several news channels showed terrorized children ducking in the bus. Many children were heard crying in the footage as their teachers tried to pacify them. One teacher was heard consoling a crying child, while the other was instructing the children to stay low to avoid being hit by stones hurled by Karni Sena.
“As soon as we came out of the school the bus was attacked. Even the police could not control them. The children somehow took cover inside the bus,” a school staff told ANI.
Gurgaon Commissioner Sandeep Khirwar said that action will be taken against miscreants.
“Adequate police forces have been deployed. I have requested mall managers to tighten their internal security. There were incidents where a school bus was vandalised and a Haryana Roadway bus was torched. 13 people detained, action will be taken,” he said.
The footage further shows that a teacher told the bus driver not to stop the bus. The windowpanes of the bus appeared to be broken, while glass shards were strewn on the seats of the bus. Children were cowering down to avoid getting hit by stones. According to News 18, the bus belonged to the GD Goenka School, Gurugram. The incident occurred at Sohna Road.

Meanwhile, Vivek Shekhawat of Karni Sena was trying to justify the shocking attack, saying it was manifestation of popular anger.
Karni Sena continued its protest against the movie by vandalising theaters in many parts of the country. Violence has been reported in Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
Shri Rajput Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi on Wednesday said his organisation won’t allow the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavaat at any cost, even if he is arrested. “January 25 (the film’s release) may come and go but we won’t let the film release, come what may,” he said.
