“Pawan was murdered. There was a cut from a sharp implement around his neck, but there was no blood under the tree, which suggested that he was murdered somewhere else. However, around the body we found pictures of a Hindu goddess, incense sticks and other items, indicating this was some kind of tantric sacrifice,” Anil Saraswat, station officer of Sahawar, was quoted as saying by Times of India.
