New Delhi, April 15: Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on Monday attacked the saffron party over Kathua and Unnao rape cases and thereafter called Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as ‘Balatkar Janata Party’. Speaking in similar context, Nath said that it is for the people to decide that by what name BJP should actually be called. Elucidating on the term suggested by him, he added that he had read a report somewhere that as many as 20 ministers belonging to the saffron party had been involved in rape cases.
Congress leaders have been vocal and have been making constant attacks on BJP. Another senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala had attacked BJP over the Kathua and Unnao gangrapes.
Maine kahin padha tha ki 20 aise neta hain Bharatiya Janata Party ke jo balatkar se jude hue hain. Ab inka naam Bharatiya Janata Party hona chahiye ya Balatkar Janata Party, ye janta ko sochna hai: Kamal Nath, Congress pic.twitter.com/78LbmrGQDM

Surjewala had even accused the Yogi Adityanath government of negligence in the Unnao rape case and said that BJP was betraying the people’s trust. He alleged that the BJP has been openly supporting the rapist and said that BJP ruled states, especially Uttar Pradesh was not a safe haven for women and dalits alike.
BJP’s UP CM Ajay Singh Bisht’s (alias Adiyanath) unashamed support for the Unnao Rape accused BJP MLA is a betrayal of People’s Trust.
Allahabad High Court’s scathing indictment of Adityanath Govt has rendered CM’s position rudderless & he should be sacked.

While the opposition leaders have been accusing the BJP of protecting criminals, the latter has hit back saying that Congress has been creating nuisance by politicising a sensitive issue. Many Congress leaders also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take strict measures in rape cases.
Both Kathua and Unnao rape cases have left people shocked and angry. People from all across the country have been engaged in massive protests and have been raising a voice against the same. Slogans such as ‘Silence is not an option’ and ‘No bail only, hang till death to rapists’ were raised by protesters. A protest march was carried out in Delhi also called “Not In My Name” in which thousands of people participated. People in large numbers came out at Parliament Street on Sunday.
