Thiruvananthapuram, May 2: A third year student was found hanging inside the hostel room at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology here in Kerala. If reports are to be believed, the Aerospace Engineering student was threatened and harassed after being caught for malpractice during the exam by an invigilator.

Praneeth Eguri, who belonged to Telangana, was found hanging from the fan in his hostel room last on April 27. Earlier in the day, he was caught by an exam invigilator for alleged malpractice during the exams.

As soon as the incident came to light, Praneeth was rushed to the hospital. The college authority is in a state of shock over the extreme step taken by the third year student.

Meanwhile, a case of suicide has been registered by the local police under section 174 CRPC.

The students, where over 700 students reside, does not have a 24-hour medical facility, the students were quoted as saying as they informed that the services are available only during the day time.
