“I have sought permission from the college authorities to meet my husband. I hope they will allow,” she told reporters.
The principal, however, told media that he won’t allow anybody to meet her.
She was taken to the college hostel as directed by the apex court. The principal told PTI that she will be able to attend her classes from Wednesday. He said no special treatment will be given to her.
Hadiya had converted to Islam before her marriage with Shafin Jahan. Her father KM Ashokan said a love jihad controversy was hatched to trick her into the marriage to convert her. The Kerala High Court had annulled the marriage on May 29. After the judgment, the Supreme Court had asked the NIA to investigate the case.
Her father Ashokan said on Tuesday that he welcomed the Supreme Court judgement, but he couldn’t allow a terrorist into the family. He alleged that she didn’t have an idea about the situation in Syria– he claimed Hadiya was going to the war-torn country.
