Kerala: Man Stabs Daughter to Death a Day Before Her Inter-caste Marriage in Malappuram
The police have claimed that the girl belonged to an upper caste whereas, the boy was from a lower caste.
Malappuram, Mar 23: A 22-year-old girl was allegedly stabbed to death by her father in Malappuram district of Kerala on Thursday. The crime was committed a day before her marriage with her boyfriend, who belonged to a different caste. The couple was scheduled to tie the knot on Friday.

The girl has been identified as Athira and her father, Rajan, has been taken into custody by the police. The victim was working at a dialysis centre of Manjeri Medical College, reports say.
The police have claimed that the girl belonged to an upper caste whereas, the boy was from a lower caste. He is a resident of Koyilandy district at Kozhikode, reports added.
Though she was rushed to a nearby hospital, the girl succumbed to injuries.
The father is currently in police custody.
