Meanwhile, media persons alleged that they were assaulted and their cameras were broken by a group of private security guards at Bishop Franco Mulakkal’s residence in Jalandhar yesterday while they tried to speak to the Bishop themselves.

For the unversed, a nun had filed a complaint against Mulakkal on June 27 accusing him of raping her nearly 13 times between the time period 2014 to 2016. The nun said that she filed a complaint after the church authorities turned deaf and took no action against the bishop. On the other hand, Mulakkal refuted the charges levelled against him and said that he was being framed by the nun since he had ordered an inquiry against her for having an affair. He added that it was her plan to take revenge.

Apart from filing a complaint against the nun, Mulakkal also filed a complaint against five other nuns, accusing them of framing him.
