Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Police has posted a hilarious montage of surveillance footage captured using drones on Twitter. Notably, after the nationwide lockdown to prevent coronavirus spread came into effect, Kerala police deployed drones at various places to monitor the unlawful assembly of people and book those violating the curfew norms. In the compilation video, we can see people in paddy fields and on sea beaches across Kerala running as they spot a police drone overhead. Some are also seen trying to cover their faces with a towel, or simply using their hands while some have been captured hiding behind trees to escape the surveillance. The law enforcers took the technical route after finding that a large number of people tend to come out without any valid reason, despite repeated warnings and restriction. This is also helping police get latest updates about the violations and take speedy action, official sources said.

As per news agency PTI, the drone monitoring is being held in all the 14 districts.

Kerala has reported 327 coronavirus cases so far. Two people have died owing to the disease.
