New Delhi, March 11: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray extended support to Kisan Long March by visiting the agitating farmers at KJ Somaiya Ground on Sunday. Speaking to the farmers, Thackeray said,”Nothing will happen from BJP govt. For this govt (BJP) your value is only for election.”

“You have always been taken for granted. You have my full support for this march. Give me a chance, whenever you will need me, I will be there for you,” the MNS president assured.

Earlier on Saturday, Shiv Sena had also extended support to ongoing farmers protest. Speaking to PTI, Ajit Nawale of the All India Kisan Sabha claimed that PWD Minister Eknath Shinde met protesting farmers when it entered neighbouring Thane yesterday. “Shinde welcomed the protestors in Thane district and extended support to the demands of the farmers. He said he was conveying the message of Sena president Uddhav Thackeray,” Nawale had said.

The All India Kisan Sabha protest march, that began from Nashik on Tuesday, March 6, reached Mumbai on Sunday and will end at the Maharashtra Assembly at Nariman Point on Monday. The farmers are protesting against the  failures of the state BJP government and are seeking a complete loan waiver among other demands.
