RG Kar Hospital Ex-Principal approaches Calcutta HC seeking protection
Former Principal of RG Kar Medical College & Hospital, Prof. (Dr.) Sandip Ghosh approached Calcutta High Court seeking protection, claiming that he has a life threat. The Court has asked the State to provide him Police protection.
Court has asked his counsel to file a separate affidavit if anything else needs to be mentioned or any other claims.

CBI is set to question four post-graduate trainee doctors and the principal of RG Kar Hospital. They have been summoned by the CBI Special Crime Branch in the CGO complex, Salt Lake, Kolkata. CBI will interrogate these the trainees regarding what happened the night of the incident. The probe agency will also question former principal Sandip Ghosh.

Union Minister Nityanand Rai on Friday said that Mamata Banerjee is giving statements to cover up the gruesome murder and rape of a trainee doctor at RG Kar hospital in Kolkata. He was reacting to the West Bengal Chief Minister’s remarks that the Left is in connivance with the Ram (the Bharatiya Janata party) to create unrest in the state.
“Mamata Banerjee is absolutely wrong. All this is a conspiracy by the TMC and she is giving such statements to cover up this gruesome crime,” he said.
