Kolkata: Man Rapes Minor in Bus Even as 5-year-old Brother Bangs on Door Pleading Sister's Release

Kolkata, Mar 6: A three-year-old girl was brutally inside a parked bus on Canal (West) Road in north Kolkata on Monday afternoon. The 45-year-old accused, identified as a bus cleaner, dragged the girl inside the bus even as the victim’s five-year-old brother kept banging on the bus’s door pleading the man to let go of her sister.

Failed in his efforts, the boy ran to fetch his mother. Their mother raised an alarm and gathered neighbours. The locals rescued the girl and thrashed the man, Sheikh Munna, before handing him over to the police. The girl was taken to the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

Doctors say that the girl has been brutalised but would possibly manage to heal, internally. The man has been arrested by the police. (Also Read: 3-year-old, Raped by Uncle on Holi, Fights For Life at Lucknow Hospital)

According to the reports, the brother and sister were playing outside their home with a ball when it fell near the bus. When the girl went to fetch it, she was lured inside the bus by Munna. As soon as the girl climbed the bus, the accused locked it from inside and began sexually assaulting the girl.

The boy ran after his sister and began banging on the door. “The little boy kept banging on the shut door, calling for his sister and crying that she be left alone. He then ran home and called his mother when he realised that the door would not open,” the victim’s uncle was quoted as saying by Times of India.

The mother’s cries raise an alarm. “We saw the girl lying on a bus seat. Munna had blood on his hands and trousers. The child’s clothes were torn and she was bleeding profusely,” the girl’s uncle added.

The police, who called the forensic experts to collect blood samples, have seized the bus for the probe.
