Kolkata, May 30: A 20-year-old woman from Kolkata has registered a complaint stating that she was kidnapped and gang-raped by four men in a moving vehicle. The incident happened on Sunday night at Salt Lake, outskirts of Kolkata.
The victim, a student told the police that, on Sunday night at around 11:30 pm she had came to Sector 5 in Salt Lake, which houses several IT offices, where she was looking to buy something to eat.
After returning back from a restaurant with a food parcel in her hand, she asked a person for directions back towards her home. Few minutes later, she was pulled in a car, which stopped in front of her by four men.
The accused then drove the car in the city and raped her one by one repeatedly till early morning in the vehicle. She was later thrown out of the car near a bus stop. The victim was also injured and was lying at the stop till Monday morning. A taxi driver who was passing by found her lying at the spot and took her to the local police station, report said. She was rescued by the police in an unconscious state from the roadside at Sector-I at Salt Lake in the early hours today, police said.
Soon after it a case of gang-rape was registered by the police. The cops said that they have some leads on the vehicle and the men involved behind the heinous crime. The cops said that they hope to make arrests soon. According to latest reports, the victim was sent for a medical examination and is still admitted at cities civil hospital. Further probe is on.
