There is country has turned to become the main exporter of terrorism” He then added, ” Either the terrorist is from that country or else the terrorist like Osama Bin Laden take refuge in that state.” Also Read - 'No Data' on Farmers' Deaths, So No Question of Financial Aid: Government

“Terrorism is the enemy of humanity. All countries must unite against terrorism . India has never bowed down to terrorism and nor will it. These days there is an atmosphere of anger in the entire country. In Uri,Kashmir our neighbour exported terrorist and martyred our 18 soldiers.” said narendra Modi. He then spoke directly spoke to the terrorists and said that India will not forget the dastardly attack.

“In the past month our forces have stopped 17 attempts at cross-border terrorism.” said the Prime Minister. Our brave soldiers have finished off more than 110 terrorists in the said period pronounced the Prime Minister. He added that the country was pride of the soldiers. Trying to diffuse the tension, Modi said, ” In one successful attempt our neighbour could destroy 18 soldiers. Imagine if the other 17 attempts were successfully how much loss India would have had to suffer. “

As the BJP National executive met today, one of the points of great anticipation was the action that is to be taken against Pakistan for the dastardly Uri terror attack that shook the country. Most Indians are calling for the nation to take tough action against Pakistan that will teach the terrorism-sponsoring country to not repeat its actions. However, the part as a whole also has its focus on development for the poor. The party focused on the welfare of the poor in the centenary birth anniversary year of its ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyay.

Amit Shah had announced earlier the party’s focus on ‘garib kalyan’ agenda in his address to the office-bearers. Today’s event is actually part of a three day exercise. Amit Shah had earlier told the party’s office-bearers at the meeting held in a scenic resort on the Malabar town’s outskirts that Kozhikode was a “holy pilgrimage” centre for the members of BJP as it was here that Upadhyay was elected as President of the Jana Sangh, the BJP’s forerunner, in 1967.  (ALSO READ: Uri attack: ‘War has started, official announcement has not made,’ says Subramanian Swamy; advice Indians to get ready for nuclear war with Pakistan)

However, for Narendra Modi, the entire country had been awaiting his response to the   Uri incident . There was also rattling within the BJP itself for action against Pakistan. Some people have even criticised the Prime Minister saying that he has gone soft on the country.  Soon after the attack took place, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had agreed to isolate its western neighbour on all multilateral fora, sources had said after a high-level meeting took place earlier at the Prime Minister’s residence at 7, RCR. The meeting was then attended by senior officials, including Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Chief of Army Staff General Dalbir Singh Suhag.

The attack on Sunday was in an army administrative base in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri. Four terrorists threw grenades and opened fire, killing 17 soldiers. More than 20 soldiers were critically injured and one of them succumbed to injuries on Monday. The attack has evoked an angry response from across the country. On the day of the attack, Rajnath Singh accused Pakistan of backing the terrorist organisation, Jaish-e-Mohammed responsible for the attack. He went on to call Pakistan a “terrorist state” and said it should be “identified and isolated as such”. Narendra Modi in his statement condemned the attack and assured the nation, “that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished”  (ALSO READ: Uri terror attack is false flag operation carried out by India: Pakistan’s conspiracy theory

Speaking on the issue, party leader Ram Madhav had said, “We are a party of grassroots workers. We understand and appreciate the sentiments in the country,” he said. He had then added, “A lot has happened in the last three days, especially on the diplomatic front. The party will air its views in the coming days,” he said. “Let’s wait for a while. There is joy in wait. You (media) will get your food,” Madhav said. When Madhav had been asked about the “lack of action” despite leaders, including him, making strong comments against Pakistan, he had said, “You want only statements or action too? Actions too will keep happening.”
