New Delhi, July 7: Former Railway Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family members are in trouble yet again. This time, it is over tenders awarded by Lalu Prasad during his tenure as the Rail Minister in 2006. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday registered a case against Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi and son and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav over awarding of an IRCTC tender to a private company in 2006 for hotels in Ranchi and Puri during his tenure as the railway minister. Lalu Prasad served as the railway minister from May 2004 to May 2009. Here is a list of accused named by the CBI in its FIR in the case against Lalu Prasad and others:

  4. Sarla Gupta, wife of Prem Chand Gupta
  5. Vinay Kochhar, son of Om Prakash Kochhar (Director of Sujata Hotels, proprietors of Hotel Chanakya), Delhi
  6. M/s LARA Projects LLP, New Friends Colony, Delhi
  7. PK Goel, then MD of IRCTC, Gurgaon
  8. Unknown Others

The CBI on Friday carried out raids at 12 locations including Delhi, Patna, Ranchi, Puri and Gurgaon. According to reports, the IRCTC invited bids in November 2006, after it took over the BNR hotels in Ranchi and Puri from the Indian Railways in January, to develop, maintain and operate hotels for 15 years on a license-fee model.
