New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Abhay Kumar Varma took lead in early trends from Laxmi Nagar Vidhan Sabha constituency.
The counting of votes for Laxmi Nagar Assembly seat in Delhi that went to polls on Feb 8 began at 8 AM. The final results are expected by the evening.
The seat witnessed a tough contest between AAP leader Nitin Tyagi, Abhay Kumar Verma of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Hari Dutt Sharma of the Indian National Congress.
In 2015, Nitin Tyagi defeated BJP’s BB Tyagi by 5,000-odd votes. Recently, he had hogged the limelight for his assets which have gone up by Rs 20 lakh in the last five years.
