Meerut, April 11: An incident of leopard attack was caught on camera in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.  A male leopard, which had attacked an Indian Air Force (IAF) official at Hasimara airbase, was caught last week by the forest department officials and later released into its habitat.

On Wednesday, leopard was seen around 8 am at C block of Race Course Marg near Army Hospital. The leopard was seen attacking people outside a building where children were playing. The leopard ran out of the building towards the kids. Around eight kids brought the wild cat under control. (Also Read- Dog chases away leopard in Goregaon: Watch CCTV footage!)

In December,  Uttar Pradesh forest officials had trapped a leopard in Madnapur village. The trap was set for wild pigs and blue bulls but, however the leopard which had been giving the villagers sleepless nights got itself trapped. In the recent times, incidents of leopard attack has been on rise in the country.

A male leopard had injured five people inside Vibgyor Public School in Bengaluru. It was later tranquilized and taken by forest officials.
