8:06 PM: Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, a committee has been formed over Jat reservation issue which will be led by cabinet minister Venkaiah Naidu. The committee has been asked to submit a comprehensive report to find the solution of this problem as soon as possible. Singh said, “I want to appeal to the people of Haryana to help in maintaining peace and order in the state”.

6:30 PM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) tribal activist Soni Sori, who was attacked with a black chemical last night, was brought to Delhi, where she will undergo treatment for her facial injuries.

5:58 PM: The government has it seems bowed down before members of the Jat community who have been on a rampage in Haryana for the past five days. The state government has decided to table the OBC status bill in the next Assembly session.

5:40 PM: Anil Jain, president of BJP’s Haryana Unit, said on Sunday, “It has been decided that in coming Assembly session Jat Reservation will be given in Haryana. In case of Centre, a High power committee will be announced today which will be led by senior Union Minister. ”

5: 33 PM: NSA, Army Chief, Delhi Police Commissioner arrived to meet HM Rajnath Singh at his residence over the Jat reservation stir. Haryana police has also taken out a flag march in Bahardurgarh, Mathura.

4: 59 PM: The Delhi’s Water Control Body will meet today at 5.30 pm to review the situation and to discuss the ongoing water crisis which which has resulted from the Jat reservation stir. The stir has lead to a severe water shortage in the capital city of India.

4:39 PM: Agitators demanding reservation for Jat community on Sunday blocked Yamuna Expressway in Mathura, Delhi-Lucknow Highway in Amroha and NH 8 near Jaisinghpur Khera of Rewari district.

4:30 PM: A rice mill, a hotel, one government building and a dozen houses were set ablaze in Haryana by protestors agitating for reservation for the Jat community on Sunday evening.

4:20 PM: Jat and Khap Panchayat leaders are currently in a meeting with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, to solve the issue of Jat reservation. The leaders came down to Uttar Pradesh to meet Singh. The issue has had a crippling effect on the transport of the state and has lead to a water crisis in the national capital of Delhi.

4:15 PM: Chandigarh-Shimla highway in Old Panchkula in Haryana, which was blocked by agitators demanding for reservation for the Jat community in India, was opened on Sunday, with the efforts from the Army and the police. Forces have however, been unable to remove the agitators from Munak Canal on Delhi Haryana border. The canal is a major source of water for the capital city of India.

4:00 PM: The Indian Army forces and the police forces deployed in strife torn Haryana used tear gas to disperse protesters near the Munak Canal in Delhi, which is a major source of water for the city. Police were also forced used to rain batons on the agitators.

New Delhi, Feb 21: One Indian Army captain and three CRPF personnel sacrificed their life for the nation fighting with terrorists in Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday morning. the latest reports say that there are still 3-4 terrorists hiding in the area and the encounter is continuing between the Indian Army and the terrorist. 115 civilians have also been evacuated, once civilian too has lost his life.

Miscreants attacked Aam Aadmi Party leader Soni Sori in Chhattisgarh on Sunday and painted her face with chemical. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kehriwal has condemned attack and have spoken to Raman Singh on the issue. He said that the perpetrators should be immediately arrested. Though the reason for the attack unknown, an FIR has been registered by police and they are trying to nab the culprits.

The Jat reservation row has paralyzed Haryana where 8 people have been killed and more than 78 civilians injured. The leaderless mob went on a rampage, forcing the Union Ministry to deploy Indian Army and paramilitary forces to contain the situation. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has appealed to the people to maintain peace and let the law and order function properly in state. Curfew has been imposed in four districts of Haryana including Rohtak, Sonipat, Bhiwani and Jajjar.
