New Delhi, Sep 19: In one of the deadliest strikes on the Indian Army in recent years, 17 soldiers were killed and 19 others injured as heavily armed Pakistani terrorists stormed a battalion headquarters of the force in North Kashmir’s Uri town. Four militants involved in the terror attack were killed by the Indian soldiers. Sharp reactions are coming in from public post Uri attack, while a high-level meeting is currently underway at 7RCR where Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Army Chief Dalbir Singh and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval are brainstorming along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the next course of action of New Delhi.
Post Uri attack, which shook the entire nation, Home Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the border areas. The Union Home Minister held meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and top officials of the ministries of Home and Defence, Army, paramilitary forces. Since Narendra Modi led BJP came to power, Pakistan has been directly or indirectly promoting terrorism against India. Pakistan has been breeding terrorists on its soil and these outfits leave no stone unturned to spread violence in India. But New Delhi always gave another chance to Islamabad. Social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook are flooded with posts in which people are demanding India to wage war against Pakistan. Dejected by Pakistan soft stand on terrorism and grieved by the loss of lives of Indian soldiers, people want Prime Minister Narendra Modi to unleash military action against Pakistan. “You are at Centre with full majority. Stop condemning attacks and start taking strong action against Pakistan for promoting terror against India,” wrote an angry Indian on Twitter. The hashtag #UriAttacks and #AbSamjhautaNahin, which was started with a video of BLUSH featuring Amitabh Bachchan, has been trending on Twitter since Uri attack and people want Modi government not to compromise on national security for the sake of diplomacy.

Fierce reactions are pouring in on social media and from political circles where ordinary citizen as well as politicians think that India should fight back this time. Indians want the government to adopt an aggressive policy against Pakistan rather than just making verbal attack. Every drop of blood of the 17 soldiers killed in the terror attack at an army administrative base in Uri is creating an urge to get up and do something. India has been showing enormous patience with Pakistan, but now the time has come to act.

“War is not a solution but we’ve to take some strict action, otherwise there will be more such incidents,” said Baba Ramdev.
