Speaking to a leading daily, UP BJP vice-president and in charge of Awadh Prant JPS Rathore said the idea was to chalk out a strategy for win at the booth level. “The party has already given a slogan ‘Mera booth sabse majboot’. And this is what has to be adhered to as elections draw near,” he said.
All roads to Smriti Upvan are dotted with hoardings welcoming Shah who would first address a meeting in Kanpur before arriving in Lucknow in the afternoon. Sources told the daily that during the meeting with Yogi, party leaders discussed programmes like the one from February 12 to February 26 when functionaries would light a lamp in households of beneficiaries of the government schemes. They said there were about a crore of beneficiaries of government schemes like Ujjwala and Saubhagya which gives free electricity connection.
