New Delhi: Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2019, cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife Rivaba joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday in Gujarat’s Jamnagar in the presence of Gujarat Agriculture Minister R C Faldu and MP Poonam Maadam. Notably, her induction came a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Jamnagar.

Earlier in November, she along with her husband Ravindra Jadeja met PM Modi at his official residence in national capital. Modi had also tweeted a photo of the couple with himself soon after the meeting. “Had a wonderful interaction with noted cricket player Ravindra Jadeja and his wife Rivaba,” he had tweeted along with the picture.

Jadeja had also posted the same picture saying, “Proud moment to meet our Honourable Prime Minister shri Narendra Modi saheb”.

She was appointed as head of Karni Sena’s women wing in Gujarat in October 2018. The organisation shot into national limelight when it staged violent protests across the country against the release of Bollywood film ‘Padmaavat starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
