New Delhi: Reacting to Lok Janshakti Party leader Chirag Paswan’s veiled threat to the BJP to take care of its allies “before it was too late,” Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan on Thursday said, “Chirag Paswan ji aur Paswan ji ne mausam ke mijaz ko samajh liya hai. Aur ab wo doobti hui nayya mein paanv nahi rakhna chahte hain. Aur unhe ehsaas ho chuka hai ki jo mudde ye NDA ke saath leke chal rahe hain wo galat hain (Both Chirag and Ram Vilas Paswan have realise which way the wind is blowing. They don’t want to be on a sinking ship anymore. They must also have realised that the issues the NDA raises are wrong).” (Also read: ‘Wait Till Evening,’ Assures RJD’s Tejashwi)
On the possibility of the LJP leaving the NDA to join hands with the Mahagathbandhan for the coming Lok Sabha elections, Ranjan said, “Waise to tay alakamaan karte hain lekin agar wo aana chah rahe hain to mujhe lagta hai ki hamare darwaze khule hain aur hum swagat karenge (Although the party high command will decide if they (LJP) want to join hands with us but I personally feel that we will welcome them with open arms).”
In a series of tweets just a couple of days ago, LJP parliamentary board chairman Chirag Paswan had expressed disappointment over no headway despite a number of meetings with the BJP leadership over the issue of seat-sharing in Bihar.
Besides Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), the LJP is the only constituent of the BJP-led NDA in Bihar after the exit of the former Union minister Upendra Kushwaha-led Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP).
Following the exit of the TDP and the RLSP, the NDA is passing through trying times. “In view of this, it is imperative that the BJP addresses the concerns of those still in the alliance in a timely manner,” Chirag had tweeted in Hindi.
