Lok Sabha Polls 2024: BJP Releases Election Manifesto 'Sankalp Patra'

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced its eagerly awaited manifesto, named ‘Sankalp Patra,’ for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 on the birth anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar, honouring one of the main framers of the Constitution with this symbolic move. The Sankalp Patra was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP chief JP Nadda at the BJP headquarters in national capital.

The manifesto focussed on PM Modi’s focus on ‘GYAN’ – the poor, the youth, farmers and the women.

While addressing the gathering the Prime Minister stated that the manifesto focus on four pillars of Viksit Bharat — women power, youth power, farmers and the poor, adding that it also focuses on the “dignity of life” and the “quality of life”, the quantity of opportunity.

The central government will also focus on providing piped gas to all homes and providing free power, PM Modi added.

The Central Government will also focus on providing piped gas to all homes and providing free power, PM Modi added.

The event started with the party president JP Nadda’s speech, in which he highlighted the Centre’s development track record. He stated that 3.8 lakh rural roads have been constructed and now every village is connected by road.

“You gave us a clear mandate and clear results came. You gave a clear mandate and Article 370 was abrogated,” Nadda said.

On Ram Mandir, he said, “…we also saw those days when Congress lawyers used to stand up and try to stop the judicial process and say that it will benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party. They were not concerned about the country, Ram Lalla. They did vote bank politics and kept creating obstacles but under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, a grand Ram temple was built…”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, “…I am happy and satisfied that under PM Modi’s leadership, we have fulfilled all our promises that we made to the people of the country…Through its ‘Sankalp Patra’, BJP presents the roadmap to a self-respecting and capable India as well as presents its commitment to welfare and development of every section of society in the country.”

The BJP had appointed a manifesto committee headed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh that met twice to deliberate on its contents after the party had launched multiple exercises, including massive campaigns across the country to seek people’s suggestions before the release of the ‘Sankalp Patra’.

The BJP received over 1.5 million suggestions for its manifesto, including more than 400,000 through the NaMo app and over 1.1 million through videos.
