New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly election 2020, Pushpam Priya Choudhary, a London-based woman has declared herself Bihar’s chief ministerial candidate in the upcoming assembly polls. Daughter of former Janata Dal United (JDU) MLC Vinod Chaudhary, Pusham also floated a new political outfit ‘President of Plurals’ to challenge Nitish Kumar, JD(U) president and the present Chief Minister of Bihar. On the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, Pushpam took to Twitter and announced her candidature for the post of the Bihar CM. She also tweeted a full-page advertisement, which appeared in several Hindi and English newspapers on Sunday. “Bihar needs pace, Bihar needs wings, Bihar needs change. Because Bihar deserves better and better is possible. Reject bullshit politics, join Plurals to make Bihar run and fly in 2020”, she tweeted along with the ad.
Meanwhile, Speaking to ANI, about her daughter’s move, the former JD(U) leader Vinod Chaudhary said,”She is adult and educated, this is her decision. Party will of course not support it if she is challenging top leader of the party.”

Pushpam Priya Choudhary has done Masters in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex. Besides, she has also done Masters in Public Administration from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
On her website, ‘dedicated to Plurals’, she challenged “the incompetent and insensitive Politicians of Bihar”.
“The world is progressing very rapidly, yet, Bihar continues to be the least developed region in the world. We are still at the bottom in the country too. Moreover, it is not about the rank that we hold but about what that rank represents. Poverty, malnourishment, illiteracy, unemployment and all other development indices that require urgent policy action. These parameters lead to fatalities every day in Bihar”, she wrote on her webiste.
Through her website, the JD(U) MLC’s daughter has asked people to register, volunteer and support the party by donating money.
