Noida, March 28: One person was injured after a low-intensity explosion took place near a railway track in Sant Kabir Nagar in Uttar Pradesh. The police have seized three crude bombs. The forensic team is on the spot and investigation is on. More details are awaited.
Earlier this month, two low intensity blasts were also reported in Uttar Pradesh in the tourist hub Agra. While one explosion was reported on a garbage dumping tractor at the Agra Cantt Railway Station, another was reported on the terrace of a house near the Agra Cantt station. No injuries were reported in this incident.
The police had earlier this month also recovered a note threatening terror attacks near Bhandai railway station, after the Andaman Express (Chennai to Jammu) crashed into a huge boulder on the tracks. A tragedy was averted as the driver pulled the brakes at the right time.
Uttar Pradesh has been on alert after suspicion of possible ISIS-motivated groups targeting the state. Uttar Pradesh ATS had earlier this month also carried out a combing operation in the state in which one alleged terrorist – Saifullah – was killed and six others were arrested. The operation had come soon after a low intensity blast on the Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train on March 7.
