Lucknow, Jan 18: The Principal of a private school, where an 11-year-old girl allegedly stabbed a Class 1 boy with a knife inside the toilet on Tuesday, has been taken into police custody. The case is being seen as a reminder of Class II student murder at a school in Gurugram in September last year. Speaking to news agency ANI, Deepak Kumar, SSP Lucknow, said, “He was attacked by a girl student of class 6 with a knife used to chop vegetables. We have sent the hair of the girl, found on the body of the child, for DNA test. She will be presented before Juvenile Justice Board. “I was informed by the school that my son is injured. He has been attacked with knife by a girl,” said the victim’s distraught father, Rajesh, a class four employee in the high court here.

The boy has been admitted to the Trauma Centre. His condition was stated to be out of danger.

The director of the school Veena Vyas, earlier said, “I am taking all the precautions in view of Gurgaon school murder case. We are also looking at whether it is due to the deadly game ‘Blue Whale Challenge’.”

“We have 70 CCTV cameras installed in the school and we are going through the footage,” she was quoted as saying to PTI.
