Lucknow has few Administrative districts and they are Lucknow, Hardoi, Lakhimpur, Hardoi, Raebareli, Sitapur and Unnao. The state capital has two Loksabha constituencies and they are Lucknow and Mohanlalganj. All political parties are trying to come to Lucknow, the helm of Uttar Pradesh. Bharatiya Janata Party left no stone unturned to return to power here. While Samajwadi Party -Congress alliance and Mayawati-led Bahujan Samajwadi party did their best to win the hearts of people of UP. The key candidates who contested from Lucknow East here are Saroj Kumar Shukla from Bahujan Samaj Party, from All India Forward Bloc it was Akhilesh Kumar Singh, Ashutosh Tandan aka”Gopal Ji” from Bharatiya Janata Party, Anurag Singh from Congress, from Rashtriya Lok Dal it is Rohit Agarwal and Ratish Chandra Upadhyaya from Uttarakhand Kranti Dal.
Lucknow East has around 3.5 lakh registered voters. It comprises of 1.91 lakh males and around 1.64 lakh female registered voters. In 2012, the BJP won this constituency. Kalraj Mishra, the winning BJP candidate got 68,726 votes, beat Juhie Singh of Samajwadi Party who secured 47,908 votes. The voter turnout was 53.13 per cent then.
In 2014 by-election was also won by the saffron party.
People of the Lucknow east constituency want political parties to create jobs, a report was published on this on February 15 by Hindustan Times. Apart from jobs, the people here want the conditions of roads to improve. Women safety and protection of senior citizens is a key issue for the people here.
The key candidates who fought elections from here are Suresh Kumar Shrivastav from Bharatiya Janata Party, Armaan Khan from Bahujan Samaj Party, Mod Akram Khan from Communist party of India, from Rashtriya Lok Dal it was Pramod Singh Yadav and from Samajwadi Party, it was Mod Rehan. Armaan Khan of BSP has no criminal record against him and has contested elections for the first time.
In the 2012 elections, Mod Rehan of SP beat Suresh Kumar Shrivastav of the saffron party.
This constituency approximately ahs 3.87 lakh voters, out of which more than 2 lakh are males and around 1.76 lakh are female voters. The areas which fall under this constituency are not very well connected to the rest of the city, reported by Hindustan Times.

In 2012 elections, Abhishek Mishra of Samajwadi Party won against Dr.Neeraj Bora of Bharatiya Janata Party. The margin wasn’t really big. Mishra had secured 47,580 votes and Bora, who last times was fielded by Congress had secured 45,361 votes. As per Hindustan Times, the total male voters in this constituency are 29,8152 and female voters are 27,3346.
People here want good roads apart from beautification of monuments. Residents here had complained of water pipe lines, streetlights, roads and were also furious that no one paid a visit to the areas which fall under this constituency.
The important candidates who contested from this constituency are Rajeev Srivastava of Bahujan Samaj Party, Brijesh Pathak of Bharatiya Janata Party, Abdul Maroof Khan Congress, Ramesh Chandra of Rashtriya Lok Dal, Shyam Sonkar of Shiv Sena, and Ravidas Mehrotra of Samajwadi Party.
In 2012, Ravidas Mehrotra of SP emerged as a winner and Vidya Sagar Gupta of BJP had taken the second spot. In 2007 and 2002 the election was won by Suresh Kumar Srivastava of the saffron party.
Lucknow Central is the heart of the city of Nawabs which has famous areas of the city like Hazratganj, Aminabad. This market is for the young souls, a shopping destination and attracts all who want to spend a good time.

Aparna Yadav is Samajwadi Party patron Mulayam Singh Yadav’s younger daughter-in-law and her the wife of Prateek Yadav, Mulayam’s second son.
In 2012, Prof. Rita Bahuguna Joshi who is a member of the saffron party now was then a part of Congress and had won. The second slot was sealed by Suresh Chandra Tiwari of BJP.
According to the Election Commission, Lucknow Cantt has 3,20,755 registered voters. It comprises 1,73,740 male and 1,46,998 female voters. The areas under this constituency are facing water problems, narrow lanes and stray animals, reported Indian Express.
