Ludhiana, Feb 27: The Congress Party seems to have repeated its recent municipal polls performance in Ludhiana Municipal Corporation election as it swept the polls, winning 62 out of 95 wards. The Bharatiya Janata Party-Shiromani Akali Dal alliance failed to prevent the Congress landslide win yet again as they could only win 21 wards. With this, the score line between Congress and BJP-SAD in Punjab has become 3-0 as this is third successive win for the Congress party in the state in less than a year. The Congress party had won Assembly polls and municipal corporation polls hands down in Punjab, under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.

Counting for Ludhiana Municipal Corporation election result 2018 is still underway; hence final figure could change, but it won’t have much of an impact on the outcome. Polling for the election had occurred on February 24. The Congress party was the favorites for a win here. The Aam Aadmi Party, and BJP-SAD were also in the fray.
