Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2018: BJP Levels Graft Charges Against Kamal Nath, Claims Shivraj Singh Chouhan Will Become CM For 4th Time

New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly election 2018, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday levelled graft charges against Congress’ state unit chief Kamal Nath and called him the main face of the rice exports scam. The ruling party also attacked Congress president Rahul Gandhi and accused him of shielding Nath.

“While Kamal Nath ji was a minister and involved in scams, he was shielded by a person. That person is Rahul Gandhi. Kamal Nath was the main face of the rice exports scam. The case was not handed over to CBI. To save its face, Congress hatched conspiracy,” BJP’s spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao alleged, while addressing a press conference.

Intensifying his attack, Rao further added,”When Niira Radia tapes were leaked in connection with 2G Scam, Kamal Nath ji’s name also appeared in it, his true form as a ‘minister of 15% commission’ was exposed. Even then he was not removed from there because he is very close to Rahul Gandhi.”

Referring to CP Joshi’s recent casteist remarks on PM Narendra Modi, the BJP claimed that Congress leaders discuss things behind closed doors and when they get exposed, they ask people to apologise. ” Rahul Gandhi ji you have been caught red-handed. You should immediately sack CP Joshi, sack him within one hour,” BJP’s Sambit Patra demanded.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi had slammed party leader Joshi and had said that his statement was against the principles of Congress. Neta’s must not make statements that hurt people’s sentiments,” Gandhi tweeted, a day after Joshi  claimed that PM Modi and Union Minister Uma Bharti are not qualified to speak on Hinduism.

On Thursday, while addressing a gathering at Sema village in Rajsamand district of poll-bound Rajasthan, Joshi had said,“Uma Bharti, who belongs to the Lodi samaj, is talking about Hindu religion. Narendra Modi too belongs to some other religion and talks about Hinduism.”
