Indore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore ahead of the assembly election in the state. Attacking the Congress party ahead of the polls, PM Modi said that the Congress party engaged in divisive politics during its 55-year rule in the state. “These elections are not about who would win or who won’t win. But these elections are about rejecting the negative forces who have always focused on the ‘divide and rule’ approach,” he said. Referring to senior leader Digvijaya Singh over his “his speeches damage the party’s prospects during the elections” remark, he said, “One of the senior Congress leaders is not being allowed to campaign during these elections. The reason is that Congress fears that if he campaigns, the party will lose as people will recall what the fate of Madhya Pradesh was during the time they were in power.” Also Read - India Toy Fair 2021: 'Use Less Plastic to Make Toys,' PM Modi Tells Industries
Addressing a gathering of Congress party workers in Bhopal in mid October, the Congress leader said that his speeches damage the party’s prospects during the elections. “Agar kaam nahi kiya toh khwaab dekhte reh jaaoge, agar aise kaam karoge toh sarkaar nahi banegi. Jisko ticket mile, chahe dushman ko mile, jitao. Aur mera kaam kewal ek, koi prachar nahi, koi bhashan nahi. Mere bhashan dene se toh Congress ke vote kat te hain, isliye main jata nahi,” Digvijaya Singh said. PM Modi in Chhindwara
PM Modi addressed a rally in Chhindwara and flayed the Congress over the mention of construction for gaushalas in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2018poll manifesto, saying that making false promises and cheating is in the blood of the opposition party. PM Modi said that the Congress party promises gaushalas in the state but slaughters calves on the streets of Kerala and eats beef.
He was apparently referring to an incident in Kerala’s Kannur last year when a calf was slaughtered to protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s notification on the sale of cattle for slaughter. “Madhya Pradesh Congress ke manifesto mein toh aap gai ka gaurav gaan kar rahe ho, lekin Kerala mein khule aam raste par Congress ke log gai ke bachde kaat kar ke uska maas khate hui tasvir nikal karke batate hain ki gaumaas khana humara adhikar hai,” said PM Modi in Chhindwara. He further said, “The Congress continues to misguide people. Cheating is in the blood of the Congress, but the people of Madhya Pradesh will not give importance to that party.”
